Information for the Wool Dyers among us

If anyone out there is interested in dyeing yarn, but doesn’t know where to start, many sites talk about dyeing with koolaid. Apparently the colors are great, and it is a non-toxic way of dyeing yarn.

I’m not sure if you can get Koolaid here in Israel, but if not, here is a place
in the UK which sells Koolaid internationally…and they even have a clearance section for dyers.

  1. I don’t know why you would want to dye with Koolaid when there are so many beautiful vegies and plants in Israel that can be used for dyeing. Rainbow dyeing, space dyeing with vinegar produce beautiful scarves. We’re a new group forming in Moshav Nir Etzion open to all ages. Our first meeting we made a micro size knitted piece worked on shepudim, transferred to toothpicks with beads to form our knitting needles and added a pin to wear on our sweaters. Talk about starting small! This week - baby hats. We could use some input.
