Chag Sameach!

* Chag HaGez is a sheep shearing festival celebrated in biblical
times, traditionally done in the spring. A portion was then tithed to
the Kohanim, as it is written in Dvarim, 18:4 ” The first-fruits of
your grain, of your wine, and of your oil, and the first of the fleece
of your sheep, shall you give him (the Kohanim and Leviim)”.

Maale Levona is the only place that celebrates this, and a Kohain will
be given a portion of the fleece.

For those who are following the “Mondial,” here is a pattern for a Knitted Soccer Ball (Football)

It looks like a quick pattern, and since it is made with acrylics, you won’t have problems finding the materials here!

Summer Meetings

The summer meeting place and schedule are upon us.

We will be meeting every other Tuesday from 8-10 in the evening. Due to constraints at Cafe on the Rails, our first hour will be outside in the garden, but we will need to be inside from 9-10.

I’d like to expand this group to all (portable) crafters. The light outside is good enough for knitting and crocheting, and if we get “our table” you can even do cross stitch and other projects.

Next meeting date: Tuesday, June 20, 2006
