Are YOU ready for Sock Wars 2006?

Now that the war has ended (no comments please, this isn’t a political blog) in Lebanon, it is time for all sock knitters to join Sock Wars 2006?. This brilliant idea posted by yarnmonkey is an international sock knitting competition where everyone ends up with a pair of hand knitted socks in the end! Since I’ve only made one pair in my life, this isn’t for me, but I think Israel needs to be represented!

Knitters for the North Update

*Update*

Our “program” to get needles and yarn to people in the north/displaced from the north is picking up steam!

It appears that we have some serious suppliers from the US, I just need people who need and their locations. This can include organizations as well as individuals, but we want to be sure it is getting to the right people. I currently have one person via Rock of Galilee, but any and all are welcome to contact me.

*Yarn snobs not welcome*

US Knitters Knit for Israel

Yael passed this on to me and I thought I should share it with the larger group.

Knitting A Community of Concern for Israel

Jerusalem Crafters in support of the North

I’ve heard from a fellow blogger Rock of Galilee that the people up north in the shelters would appreciate donations of yarn and needles (preferably shorter ones for the kids). Now is the time to clear out your stash for a very good cause.

If you can make it to the meeting on Tuesday, I will be collecting. If not, reply to this post and we will work out a time to meet. Please feel free to alert others who may not see this post.
